World Malaria Day on Facebook and MySpace

As part of its virtual campaign to celebrate the first World Malaria Day on April 25th, Malaria Consortium has created a World Malaria Day Facebook page and MySpace Profile for people to engage with. It is hoped that through these two social networks people will be able to show their support for this day and access various initiatives such as the World Malaria Day button. The Links and instructions are as follows:

 

World Malaria Day on MySpace – joining this group as a friend enables you to comment on the profile, view pictures and subscribe to blog entries. You can also download the World Malaria Button onto your own MySpace profile in a show of support, using the html code provided at www.mobilising4malaria.org/get_button.php?lang=en

To join the World Malaria Day group you will need to have a registered MySpace profile (to set one up, click here). Please go to the link above and in the “Contacting World Malaria Day” box on the left hand side, click the icon that says “Add to Friends”

 

World Malaria Day on Facebook – becoming a fan of this group enables you to write comments on the Wall & discussion board, join related events, view photos and keep updated with World Malaria Day activities through the notes that are posted. You can also make the World Malaria Day button your profile picture until April 25th in a show of support.

To become a fan of the World Malaria Day group you need to 1) have a Facebook profile (to set one up, click here) and 2) add the “I am a Fan of..” Application to your profile (to install, click here). Then please go to above link and click on the “Become a Fan” button in the right hand menu of the page.
